Renee's Begin to Knit I

Renee has been knitting for 8 years and has taught several people to knit one on one. She specializes in stranded colorwork, but also works in cables, lace and simple knits. She is excited to help more people enjoy this art.

Learn how to knit in the round by completing a cowl and hat in this course.

You will learn how to :
- hold the needles and yarn using English knitting
- join in the round
- rip back if you make a mistake
- tell ribbing from stockinette
- count rounds
- bind off
- do knitted cast on with circular needles
- decrease your stitches
- knit on double point needles

Materials Needed:
- super bulky weight yarn
- US 13 (9 mm) 16" circular needles
- Set of US 13 (9 mm) double point needles
- locking stitch marker to fit over large needles
- tape measure
- Tapestry needle

Cowl and hat patterns are free Ravelry downloads and will be supplied for you.

Cost is $60 per student (materials not included but can be purchased at Fibre with a 10% discount)
